What you need to know about wheelchair access at Kawaii Monster Cafe Harajuku

I had lunch at the brightly coloured Kawaii Monster Cafe Harajuku with my brother, Michael.

Getting there

Harajuku Station is wheelchair accessible (barrier free) with an elevator and ramp. Staff are able to assist with a ramp if you let station staff know before boarding.

It’s a short five (5) minute push (walk) downhill to the YM Square. Take the lift to level 4.

Opening times

It’s open for lunch from 11:30am-4:30pm and dinner from 6pm-10:30.

A reservation is recommended but we arrived right on opening and were able to dine.

The dining experience

Guests can only dine for 90 minutes.

All guests must purchase a drink and food.

  1. Wait to be seated.
  2. Taken through the doors and to your table.
  3. Browse the menu on a digital tablet.
  4. Order.
  5. Eat.
  6. Pay.

The food and drinks were delicious. I ordered the fries with brightly coloured sources (including mustard, tomato) and the alcohol cocktail experiment which tasted a bit like a fruit tingle.

It’s a fun experience with delicious food and drink.
